I sincerely hope that we too can be a part of this green move and contribute in whatever small way to conserve energy. It can happen in India too.....just that we need to push ourselves out of our so-called safe cocoons. How about some sincere efforts from all of us here at Instablogs? Can we come together and start something together that in turn will motivate others too?

Actually it has happened in Mumbai in Dec 2007, and was called ”Batti Bandh movement” in which people all over Mumbai were told to switch off the electricity for an hour from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm on a Saturday. Needless to say it was super flop.
Like Deepa has mentioned, we need to push ourselves to make it a success. There needs to be a big hype, get media into this in a big way, get celebrities endorsed... maybe some corporate may get into this like Mumbai Marathon taken up by Standard Chartered.
Can we at instablogs do it?
